James (Jim) Torres

James Torres is a 29-year financial professional and National Trainer for Towers Federal Educators, teaching and serving federal employees personally in CA, DC, FL, GA, KY, LA, MD, NJ, TX, PA and VA. He dedicates his time at work to training current and new counselors as well as educating and guiding federal employees, their families, and loved ones to achieve their financial goals while building life-long relationships. James’ extensive years in international finance – working as a Stockbroker, Forex Broker, Mortgage Lender & Broker, Insurance Agent, Financial Planner and more – allow him insight into many creative strategies to find the most efficient ways to teach federal employees and extended loved ones how to reach their financial goals and protect their families through Retirement Planning, Tax Planning, Social Security Planning, Long Term Care and more.
As a financial professional with Towers Financial Services, his goal is to build lasting, quality relationships while assisting clients with their financial goals and objectives. He provides service and dedicates attention to his current clients as if they were new ones, assuring everyone is taken care of equally. James combines his personal financial and leadership skills with the Towers Federal Educators network to provide a cornerstone of service and strategy. Towers Federal Educators is a member of the Forward Strategies Group, currently a national leader in financial protection strategies and wealth management.
Prior to launching Towers Federal Educators, James held various upper-level corporate positions with Interbay Funding, Greenpoint Mortgage, Federal Life, Forex Brokers International, Advisor’s Edge Financial, and Lloyd’s of London.
James holds the ChFEBC℠ designation as a Chartered Federal Employee Benefits Consultant as well as the FFEBA Certification as a Federation of Federal Employee Benefits Advocate. He attended DeVry University of Chicago and has an MBA in Business Administration and Finance.
James and his wife, Maria, reside in the Coconut Creek, Florida area and have five children, three of whom are college graduates, with a son completing his bachelor’s degree at Florida Atlantic University and their youngest daughter in her second year at Broward College North. James is a highly active community leader, participating in various programs to feed the poor, volunteering at his church in the Benevolence Ministry where he offers free financial education and guidance, and serving with local and international missions.
